In the biggest single day increase since late July, Ontario’s Health Minister has announced there are 213 new cases of COVID-19 today, with over 32,500 tests completed.
As has been the case for the last few weeks, the bulk of the new cases are in the GTA with 71 in Toronto and 38 in Peel Region. Another 37 have been reported in Ottawa.
Minister Christine Elliot says the majority – 67% – are people under the age of 40.
Across the province, 26 public health units have reported five or fewer new case, with 18 reporting no increase at all.
As of Thursday afternoon’s figures, Chatham-Kent still has just one active case of COVID-19.
