Ontario to Implement Financial Literacy in Schools

ontarioNovember is Literacy Month in Ontario, and the province is working on ways to support students’ financial literacy.

In Grades 4 to 12, students will be given the opportunity to learn about saving money, spending and investing money, and how to be responsible consumers.

The Grade 10 Careers Studies class will also incorporate financial literacy when it comes to post secondary education and career planning.

The province aims to teach students responsible money habits in school to help lower the levels of student debt after graduation.
