Ontario’s lowest earners will take home a little more cash in their next pay cheque.

Starting today, the province’s minimum wage is increasing from $17.60 an hour to $17.95.

The increase was first announced by the Ford Government back in April.

Under the Employment Standards Act, the provincial minimum wage increases each year based on the Ontario Consumer Price Index.

Officials say a worker making the general minimum wage and working 40 hours per week will see an annual pay increase of up to $728.
