OPP Warn of Email Scam Containing Child Pornography

A disturbing string of email spam messages is making the rounds.

Provincial Police say they have received numerous complaints about unsolicited emails which, when opened, contain links to images of child sexual abuse.

The emails come from mail@aloette.me. Recipients are urged not to open the messages and contact their local police immediately.

In a statement released this morning, the OPP say everyone should caution when opening emails from unfamiliar or unusual accounts. If unsure, a company’s legitimate contact information can typically be confirmed by visiting their website.

Parents are reminded to take a proactive approach to help protect their children from online sexual exploitation by speaking with their children regarding internet safety. Parents and anyone interested in protecting children can find resources to assist them at www.cybertip.ca.
