Organization Brings Agriculture into the Classroom

aginclassroomBringing agriculture into the classroom is a priority for a local organization.

Judy Krall, President of Lambton-Kent Agriculture in the Classroom, says the programs they deliver fill a gap in education.

“It’s really important because as a farmer myself, I personally feel that we have failed to educate 2-3 generations of people. As a result, I think some sectors of agriculture have fallen victim to that, and we need to make sure that we educate the students so that they can make good decisions as future consumers”, Krall says.

Some of the programs include the Farm Animals Kit for Grade 2 students, and Harvest Days at the University of Guelph in Ridgetown.

The organization held their 20th annual gala last Friday, celebrating their many sponsors over the years.
