A yearly event in support of local children with physical and developmental needs is being hailed a success.

The fourth annual Run for the Kids was held this past Sunday at Rondeau Provincial Park, raising over $105,000 for the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent.

Hundreds of participants took part in a 200-metre Kids Dash and an inclusive 5 km walk/run/move around the park.

“Run for the Kids continues to demonstrate the incredible generosity of our community,” said Mike Genge, President & CEO of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent in a news release. “The support behind this event helps ensure local children and youth have access to programs and services that make a meaningful difference in their lives. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s event such a success.”

Funds raised through Run for the Kids support essential programs and services at the Children’s Treatment Centre that are not funded through government sources, including Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, and specialized equipment.
