The numbers are in and organizers are thrilled with this year’s Hike for Hospice.
The annual fundraiser for the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation drew more than 600 participants to Mud Creek Trail between May 1st and 7th, raising over $150,000.
“We are so thankful to the hikers and the donors for all they do to support our hospice families,” said Ginny Hawken, Special Event Chair for the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation Board of Directors in a news release. “It was so touching to see so many people walking together on the trail and all the memorial signs are just a reminder of the impact Hospice has made in our community over the past 7 years.”
Proceeds support end-of-life care including residential hospice care, care coordination, and grief and bereavement support at no cost to local families.
Since its inception in 2017, the Hike for Hospice has raised over $785,000 to support end of life care in Chatham-Kent.
