Organizers are hailing Sunday’s Chatham Maroons Breast Cancer Awareness Night a huge success.

The Jr B team wore special pink jerseys in honour of those who have fought breast cancer and survivors of the disease. The sweaters were then auction off, along with various other prizes, raising $3394.

Proceeds from the event will be shared by the Breast Buddies dragon boat team and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Over the past nine years, the Maroons’ Breast Cancer Awareness Night has brought in more than $26,629, with hopes to break the $30,000 mark next year.
