A crackdown on commercial vehicles at a nearby international crossing has led to over a dozen charges.

Officials with Lambton OPP, Ministry of Transportation, and the Federal Bridge Corporation conducted a joint forces traffic safety initiative at the Bluewater Bridge on January 8th.

Nine vehicles were inspected with 13 charges laid for violations including improper use of border approach lane, hours of service non-compliance, window tint exceeding legal limits, and expired commercial vehicle operator registration.

Authorities are reminding all commercial drivers to plan ahead, follow postage signage, and always make safety a priority.
