COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of yet another major fundraising event.
The Over The Edge event supporting the Chatham-Kent Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Chatham-Kent has now been wiped off the schedule.
The company who hosts the rappelling events have had to cancel their events until the end of the June, forcing local organizers to abandon plans for this year’s fundraiser.
The event will now take place in June of 2021.
The funds would have been split between the two non-profits.
Lead sponsor Lally Auto Group will stay on with the donation of a new car to one lucky winner who raises $1,000 to participate.
Plans called for the participants to rappel over the front of the Holiday Inn Express in Chatham.
