A Chatham man is facing charges after he allegedly stole a vehicle that had been equipped with a GPS tracker.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the vehicle was stolen Sunday morning, from a parking lot on King Street in Chatham.

The owner was able to track the vehicle’s GPS to a residence on Colborne Street, where officers later located the vehicle.

As a result, a 32-year-old Chatham man has been charged with theft and possession of stolen property over $5,000. He has been released from custody with a future court date.
