The 43rd annual Sydenham Canoe and Kayak Race goes Sunday.

Paddlers leave from Mosside Rd, just west of County Rd. 79 and paddle to the Shetland Conservation Area.

The event is in support of outdoor education programs for the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority.

Spokesperson Sharon Nethercott says there’s a class that will appeal to all paddlers.

“We have a variety of course lengths depending upon whether you’re interested in participating in the recreation lazy river class or if you are one of the competitive people who belong to the Ontario Marathon Canoe and Kayak Association,” says Nethercott. “There are 7km, 12km and 16km lengths.”

Registration begins at 10am, race at 11:20am.
