A man and a woman are facing charges after an argument led to an assault in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to Montgomery Drive in Wallaceburg for an assault complaint at around 9:15 a.m. on Thursday.
Authorities located a man and woman at the scene and determined that the man was allegedly breaching the conditions of his release, which included communicating with the woman or being in any place she is known to reside, work or go to school.
Following an investigation, officers also learned that the woman had allowed the man into her home after a night out. The pair then started arguing which escalated when the woman allegedly struck the man several times.
Both the man and the woman were arrested.
The 48-year-old Walpole Island man has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order, while the 41-year-old Wallaceburg woman is charged with assault and two counts of facilitating a breach.
Both have been released with September court dates.
