An argument has led to charges for a pair of Chatham residents after things escalated into violence.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a disturbance at an Adelaide Street South address in Chatham on Sunday shortly before 10 a.m.
Authorities learned that a man and a woman had been arguing when the woman allegedly threw a bottle at the man, and the man grabbed the woman.
The woman suffered a minor physical injury.
As a result, both were arrested. A 31-year-old Chatham woman is now charged with assault with a weapon, while a 38-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault.
The pair have since been released from custody with conditions and an October court date.
