Two people are facing weapon and drug charges following a pair of police raids in Wallaceburg and St. Clair Township.

Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police and Chatham-Kent Police Service executed a pair of search warrants on Thursday, October 10 on Wilkesport Line in St Clair Township and on Wills Street in Wallaceburg.

As a result, police seized illegal drugs, cash, stolen vehicles and guns with a total value of $64,815.

A 39-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been arrested in connection with the investigation. She is now charged with careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

A 35-year-old St. Clair Township man is also charged with seven counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, driving while prohibited, possession of stolen property under $5,000, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.

Both of the accused are also charged with one count each of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

They were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
