The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is meeting most of its goals, but not all of them.
That’s the viewpoint of Director of Education Dan Parr, who says one weak spot with student achievement is math.
“We have math experts or math advisers in all of our schools,” Parr says. “Every curriculum needs to be reviewed and perhaps updated from time to time to make sure it is addressing the most fundamental and most critical skills, in this case math.”
Parr says an area that has been strong is faith based learning, thanks to making investments in elementary religious education tools.
As well, the board has implemented an Inclusive Schools section added to its strategic plan, along with school condition improvements and greenhouse gas reduction projects.
This is Parr’s final annual report before retiring at the end of next month.
