Charges have been laid after a man was found passed out behind the wheel in Dresden.

Officers responded to the North Street area just after 9 Saturday night and say the vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and the driver unresponsive.

Authorities say the man had been drinking and pulled over to sleep.

After failing a roadside screening, the man was taken to police headquarters for more tests.

The 59-year-old is now charged with impaired operation of a vehicle, was issued a 90 day license suspension, and has his vehicle impounded for seven days.
