Chatham-Kent’s animal control provider is celebrating a milestone as it continues to find forever homes for its feline friends.

Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) is inviting the public to help mark its 100th adoption from The Cat Lounge, located inside The Glasshouse Nursery, on Sunday.

“Every adoption represents a cat getting a second chance and a family finding a new companion,” said Myriam Armstrong, the executive director of PAWR, in a news release. “The Cat Lounge has exceeded our expectations, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has visited, adopted, donated, or simply helped spread the word. This celebration is our way of saying thank you.”

The celebration will take place from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at The Glasshouse Nursery in Chatham. The first 100 people who bring a donation of a bag of cat kibble will also receive a $50 gift certificate to The Glasshouse. Complimentary cupcakes will also be available during the event.

The Cat Lounge, which opened in July 2024, provides visitors with an opportunity to relax with adoptable cats in a calm, welcoming environment, while helping more animals find families.
