With the official start of summer just over 24 hours away, boaters can now travel freely down the Sydenham River.

In mid-May, municipal officials announced the LO Stonehouse walking bridge needed repairs to the lift mechanism and would be facing intermittent closures.

After several weeks of work, the operational issues have been fixed and the span is now able to open for larger boats.

With the completion of repairs, all movable bridges in Wallaceburg are now operational for the navigation season.
