After just over a month at Queen’s Park, the region’s newest MPP already has a new role.

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Steve Pinsonneault, who was elected in the May 2, 2024 provincial by-election, has now been named Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Rural Affairs.

Pinsonneault announced the news on his social media accounts this week.

The appointment comes two weeks after Premier Doug Ford shuffled his cabinet, splitting the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs into two portfolios. Lisa Thompson was named Minister of Rural Affairs while Rob Flack was given the Ministry of Farming, Agriculture, and Agribusiness.
