Rotary Clubs around the world are raising money to try to eradicate polio.
Wednesday, October 20th marks the annual Pizza for Polio Day in Chatham-Kent, with over half a dozen Chatham pizza places donating a portion of their sales to the cause.
Over the last seven years, the Chatham Rotary club has helped raise $260,000 to help fight polio.
Andy’s Place, Boston Pizza, Konstantinos, Mike’s Place, Original 2 Pizza, Pizza Tonite, Pie-Zano’s, and Steve’ Pizzeria are donating a portion of their proceeds on pizza orders that day (carry out and delivery) to support the cause.
A number of restaurants in Tilbury are also taking part this year, organized by the Rotary Club of Tilbury.
Rotary Clubs have spent the last 30 years working to rid the world of polio, contributing nearly $1.2 billion and countless volunteer hours to the protection of more than two billion children in 122 countries.
