Local hockey teams are getting an extended winter break.
The Ontario Hockey Federation is pausing all in-person programming in keeping with the Province’s return to a modified Step 2 of the Reopening Plan. As a result, the PJHL AND GOJHL have paused their regular seasons beginning January 5th through the 26th.
A statement from the GOJHL says the league is working on contingency plans to prepare for all possible scenarios that the Covid-19 pandemic, omicron variant, and Ontario Government restrictions could present post-January 26th.
The PJHL also issued a statement Tuesday night, saying it takes its responsibility very seriously to ensure the safety of all participants, and will continue to work with governing bodies, local health units, and facilities to provide the safest environment possible.
