Plan For Wallaceburg’s South Side Up For Approval

The final plan for Wallaceburg’s south side is set to come before Chatham-Kent Council for potential approval.

Following multiple public engagement sessions, council will have the opportunity to review an amendment to the municipality’s Official Plan on Monday, March 18, which will outline a development plan for a portion of Wallaceburg’s south side. Council will then vote on whether or not to adopt the plan.

The south side plan area is bounded to the north by the Sydenham River, to the east by Murray Street, to the south by a railway corridor, and to the west by McNaughton Avenue.

The plan includes the development of several structures that will address activity areas, parkland, mobility, land use and intensification.

Prior to council’s meeting, those wishing to express support or opposition to the plan can email their comments by calling the Municipal Clerk’s Office at 519-360-1998 or by email at [email protected]. All comments must be submitted before noon on March 18.
