A planned power outage in the Wheatley area has been called off.
Hundreds of Hydro One customers between Belle River and Wheatley were expected to be without power for several hours this week for planned maintenance this coming Friday.
The outage was planned to allow Hydro One crews to complete essential maintenance work on the local electrical system.
However, in a statement released Tuesday afternoon, municipal officials say the work has been put on hold for now, and will be rescheduled by Hydro One at a later date.
Hydro One will be notifying affected customers through its automated phone system. Residents can also find additional information by visiting Hydro One’s outage map and selecting “Future Planned Outages” or by calling 1-888-664-9376.
