Plans for Wallaceburg’s South Side Could Take Another Step

Chatham-Kent council will look to approve a number of tenders tonight, including voting on the winning proposal for consulting services for the secondary plan for the south side of Wallaceburg’s downtown along Wallace Street.

It’s recommended that council approve the bid to Fotenn Planning and Design in the amount of $84,422.30

A secondary plan is a land use plan that is prepared as an amendment to an official plan. It’s expected that the secondary plan will take a year to complete and will include the public’s input and will lead to the revitalization of the neighbourhood.

If the tender is approved, it’s expected the project would get underway next month with public consultation held over the summer, a draft concept prepared by the fall, and the final recommendations ready to be presented to council in March, 2022.
