Several local businesses are teaming up to raise money for the local men’s shelter. 
Organizer Sally Ellis says the Hockey Beard Face-off is easy to participate in.
“Just take a photo of your beard and post it on Facebook or Instagram using the hasthag #ckhockeybeard,” Ellis says. “We’re going to have a big hosting party at the end at the Sons of Kent, all proceeds will be going to Hope Haven for gentlemen who don’t have a place to stay for the night.”
A panel of judges will help to determine the winner.
Ellis says she’s working with other businesses on the challenge, and prizes include a “beard fridge” as well as a selection Smellis Beard Oil products.
