An annual police officer’s golf tournament has raised thousands of dollars in support of people living with dementia in Chatham-Kent.

The Chatham-Kent Police Association (CKPA) held its annual Rob Herder Memorial Charity Golf Tournament at Willow Ridge Golf and Country Club in Blenheim on August 12.

The event raised $9,000 through sponsorships, which was recently donated to the Alzheimer’s Society of Chatham-Kent as this year’s tournament beneficiary.

More than 120 golfers turned up for the event, making it one of the police association’s most successful events to date.

The CKPA golf tournament was renamed after long-time organizer Sergeant Rob Herder in 2022, following his passing in 2020.
