The Chatham-Kent Police Services Board is making $1,000 available to a worthy high school student through a new Public Safety Scholarship.
Police Services Board Chair Pat Weaver explains the genesis of the project.
“We’re excited. It’s a brand new thing. We believe with social media so prevalent,” says Weaver. “We felt this was a great way to engage them about the issues in Chatham-Kent and get them involved with helping with it.”
Interested teens need to put together a video regarding one of three topics; road safety concerns, address mental health or ways to reduce property crimes.
Deadline is March 22.
