A local man is in hot water with police after officers stopped a vehicle that had been weaving on and off the shoulder of the road.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Tuesday shortly before 3 p.m., officers received a report about an erratic driver on Charing Cross Road in Raleigh Township.

Officers located and stopped the vehicle on Charing Cross Road near Devon Road. Suspecting the driver was impaired officer administered a roadside breath test.

As a result, a 62-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.

His vehicle was towed from the scene.
