A local man is facing charges following a theft from a Wallaceburg business.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to the McNaughton Avenue business just before 3:30 p.m. on Sunday after a man stole just under $280 worth of items.
After an employee provided police with a description, officers were able to identify and locate a suspect. The suspect attempted to run, but following a brief chase, officers were able to take him into custody.
A 27-year-old Chatham man is now charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000. He was taken to police headquarters and later released with a future court date.
