One person has been arrested and police are looking for another after a package was stolen from a front porch in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said two men removed a delivered package from the porch of a Lacroix Street home on Thursday shortly before 10 a.m.
Officers were called to the area, and the men were seen opening the package in a nearby alleyway. Following a brief chase, one suspect was arrested on Lorne Avenue, and the package was recovered.
A 35-year-old Windsor man is now charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and failing to comply with a release order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
A second suspect, a 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man, remains outstanding.
