Police had to call off a high speed chase in Chatham this morning.
Officers spotted a stolen car on Grand Ave East early this morning and when they attempted to stop the driver with a blocking maneuver, the man evaded the move and sped off.
Officers followed for a short time before calling off the chase due to safety concerns.
The car was found a short time later abandoned on a quiet road.
A short time later a sleeping man was found in a vehicle by a homeowner in the same general area, he was confronted, fled and quickly arrested.
