An arrest has been made after police received more than two dozen frivolous calls from the same person.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the police communications centre began receiving repeated calls to the non-emergency number shortly after midnight on Sunday. A total of 30 calls were made by the same individual who did not have a legitimate reason for contacting the authorities.

Following an investigation, officers attended the residence of a 46-year-old man from Erieau and took him into custody.

The accused has been charged with one count of making harassing communications. He will answer the charge in court late this month.
