A local woman has been charged after allegedly getting caught red-handed during a break-and-enter in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a report of a break-in on Selkirk Street shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday and found a broken window where someone had forced their way into the home.
A woman was located inside the residence and was arrested. Authorities also learned the suspect was under probation, prohibiting her from being near the residence.
A 33-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is now charged with break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence and failing to comply with a probation order. She was held for a bail hearing.
