Local residents may see an increased police presence at a former elementary school in Chatham this week.

Officers with the Chatham-Kent Police Service will be conducting an “Incident Command Scenario” training session at St. Ursula School in Chatham on Wednesday.

There will be no disruption to public activities, however, the public may notice heavier-than-normal police activity in the area.

Authorities said the training is essential for improving emergency response capabilities.

The decommissioned St. Ursula Catholic School closed its doors for good back in June and local police have been utilizing the Lacroix Street facility for training purposes since September.
