An illegal magic mushroom dispensary in Chatham that has been raided multiple times by local police has moved to a new location.
After three police raids over as many months resulting in the seizure of tens of thousands of dollars worth of psilocybin, the store “Fun Guyz” has moved from its location on King Street West to a property on the corner of St. Clair Street and Lowe Street.
The store opened at its initial location in downtown Chatham in early May.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service issued a statement on Wednesday, saying investigators are aware of the recent move.
“We will enforce the appropriate regulations regarding the operation of illegal businesses that involve illicit substances. Our priority is public safety and community well-being,” police said.
Authorities emphasize that the possession, sale, and production of magic mushrooms, psilocybin, and psilocin are illegal in Canada.
