A local woman has been arrested in connection with a residential fire in Wallaceburg.
Firefighters with Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue responded to the home at 12 Brock St. at around 12:15 p.m. on December 23.
The homeowner was not at home when the fire started, according to police.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene and conducted an investigation, however, fire officials are not releasing further details about the blaze.
After reviewing surveillance footage from the scene, the Chatham-Kent Police Service issued a warrant for the arrest of a 63-year-old Wallaceburg woman.
The accused was located and arrested by police on Lorne Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday. She was charged with one count of arson causing damage to property and then released with a February court date.
