Police are urging the public to be cautious after a man broke into a Chatham home and claimed to be collecting donations on behalf of a charity.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the man entered a William Street residence shortly before 9:30 Wednesday morning, but was confronted by the homeowner.
The suspect claimed to be collecting for the Goodfellows but when questioned further by the homeowner, he left the residence.
The suspect is described as being in his 50s or 60s with short grey or white hair. He was last seen wearing a black and red jacket and a red apron wrapped around his waist.
