After four months in business at two different locations, an illegal magic mushroom dispensary in Chatham has been raided once again by local police.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers with the Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at Fun Guyz on St. Clair Street at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

During the search, officers seized over 1,000 grams of psilocybin, valued at over $14,000. Police also removed signage from the building, which was promoting the illegal sale of psilocybin.

This marks the fourth drug bust at the illegal business since it opened at its initial location on King Street West. Fun Guyz moved its store from downtown Chatham to the corner of St. Clair Street and Lowe Street in July.

Authorities emphasize that the possession, sale, and production of magic mushrooms, psilocybin, and psilocin are illegal in Canada.

Anyone who witnesses illegal activities or suspicious behaviour is encouraged to call police at 519-352-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
