Police Respond To Four Incidents In Wallaceburg, Three Charged

It was a busy 24 hours for Chatham-Kent Police in Wallaceburg.
A 28-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with mischief under $5,000 after allegedly smashing the window to a business on James Street in Wallaceburg around 4AM Wednesday morning. Police located the man a short distance away and took him into custody. Damage is pegged at $1,500.
A 30-year-old Wallaceburg man faces charges of being intoxicated in a public place after reports of a suspicious person walking in and out of traffic on McNaughton Avenue on Tuesday morning. Police say the suspect was located and unable to care for himself. For his own safety, the man was taken into custody and released when sober.
A 52-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with failing to comply with parole conditions. The accused was originally released from custody on April 18th. One of his conditions stated that he was not to attend the home of a specific woman in Wallaceburg. Police located the man just before 11AM on Tuesday morning at the residence. He was released pending a future court date of August 11, 2020.
Police are also looking for the public’s help after $1,000 if tools and property were stolen from a shed on Langstaff Line. Police say unknown suspect(s) forced their way into the shed and stole two DeWalt cordless drills, a Milwaukee cordless drill and a gas powered Honda pump.
