Police Seize $23K In Illicit Drugs During Bust

A man and a woman are facing charges following a drug raid in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers with the Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Florence Street on Wednesday.

During a search of the property, officers seized 223 grams of cocaine, around 100 Oxycodone tablets, 4.4 grams of fentanyl, cell phones, digital scales, packaging, and a large sum of Canadian currency. The estimated street value of the controlled substances is around $23,900.

As a result, a 65-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, both from Chatham, have been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both have since been released from custody with a court date in March.
