The annual Salvation Army Christmas Luncheon was a big hit again this year, raising more than $7000.

Gord Childs helps organize the event, which is presented by the Childs family and the Black Goose Grill.

“The parking lot was full out there, 45 years and people are still…there’s people here that were at the first one,” Childs says.

Organizers estimate over 400 people people took part in the fundraiser, held at the UAW Hall on Tuesday.

Since its inception 45 years ago, the Poor Boy Luncheon has now raised over $337,000 for the Salvation Army, with all of the proceeds supporting families in Wallaceburg.
