Chatham residents were in a giving mood last night. 
Hundreds of volunteers went door to door as part of the Chatham Goodfellows’ Porchlight Campaign, collecting a whopping $44,500 in cash, about $3000 more than last year’s drive.
As well, residents donated enough non-perishable food to fill 90 banana boxes, and more than 70 boxes full of toys.
All of the proceeds go to ensure there is “No Child Without a Christmas,” providing support for as many as 1500 families in need over the holidays.
