On the heels of a report outlining changes to the proposal to revitalize the Downtown Chatham Centre, local residents are being asked to share their thoughts.

A report was presented to council last week, saying the developers have nixed plans for an arena and entertainment complex and were going to refurbish the remainder of the mall. That leaves municipal officials with several options, including buying a portion of the mall to relocate the Civic Centre.

An online survey is underway through the municipality’s Let’s Talk website, accepting submissions until September 23rd.

Two public consultation dates have been set, September 13th and 20th, both at the Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham from 6-8pm.

Municipal staff will review all of the comments and finalize a report to council by mid-October.

The report will be publicly released October 26th and discussed at the council meeting on October 30th.
