Wallaceburg area boaters have some of the best water around to enjoy during their trips, but the same cannot be said for the parking situation near the boat ramp.

There isn’t much, and a lot of boaters return from their day of fun to a parking ticket.

Local business man, Jeff Jarrell of Lambton-Kent Landscaping Supplies, is an avid boater and he too, has returned to tickets.

But he has an idea. “I’ve got a 2.5 acre parcel of land that’s beside our landscape depot on Gillard, that’s just down the street from the boat launch, and what I’d like to do is donate it to the municipality for local boaters”.

Boaters could then launch their boats, and park their vehicles nearby avoiding the aggravation of a ticket.

He has approached one of the first time candidates for a council seat in ward five to drive the idea to council and he has agreed.
