As a nation-wide postal strike enters its fourth day, local residents are being given options on how to make sure bills are still getting paid on time.
Officials with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent say to avoid late fees, interruptions, or delays for mailed items, including payments, applications, building permits, or registration documents, residents have several options at their disposal.
That includes bringing mail directly to a municipal service centre or customer drop off box, submitting documents through email if possible, or arranging pre-authorized payments.
Payment due dates will not change and late fees will still apply should payments be missed. Learn more about setting up alternate payment methods at www.chatham-kent.ca/services/propertytaxes/Pages/Pay-Property-Taxes.aspx
