Chatham-Kent council will debate sweeping zoning changes governing cannabis production Monday night. 

To fall in line with new federal regulations, the municipality has prepared a new set of bylaws and restrictions to new cannabis production facilities.

The new rules will manage everything to setbacks from homes and businesses, site access and parking requirements, road and utility access and a number of other minor issues.

The official plan will also be adjusted to allow facilities on properties zoned both general and rural industrial and agricultural without require a site specific zoning amendment.
