Chatham-Kent Council will be looking at pausing their work on creating a tree cover and woodlot preservation bylaw for at least the next couple of months.
At their online meeting tonight, council members will look at postponing meetings scheduled for April and May due to their recent decision to hire a facilitator to help guide them through the bylaw process. A request for proposal will be needed for a facilitator—a process that will take at least a couple of months.
The plans for the facilitator will include gathering information and stakeholder engagement to help councillors make a decision as well as preparing a preservation framework recommendation to manage woodlots in Chatham-Kent.
