Premier Doug Ford visited the Chatham Kent Children’s Treatment Centre on Wednesday afternoon to thank local front line workers.

Although there was no word on potential funding, the Premier’s visit is hoped to be a sign of good things to come.

Following his visit, the Premier took to social media to praise the work being done at the local Treatment Centre.

The facility has been waiting for word on provincial funding to help build a new, expanded centre.

The land on McNaughton Avenue West near Bear Line has been secured for over two years with plans for a 50,000 square foot building.

Millions of dollars has been raised by the community, but the plans hinge on a financial commitment from the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.

The Treatment Centre serves nearly 4500 clients each year, or one in every five children in Chatham-Kent.
