Premier Doug Ford’s mother in law is positive for COVID-19.
Ford’s mother-in-law is 95-years-old and lives at a long-term care home.
The details were confirmed by Ford’s office after the Premier choked back tears when discussing long-term care facilities during his briefing on Thursday afternoon.
When asked about the state of long term care homes, Ford says his heart breaks for the people involved and their families and admitted the system needs improvement.
The province has previously ordered public health units to conduct testing of each resident and staff member at long-term care facilities across Ontario.
